Position Vision

​

The Press Brake Fabrication Associate plays a critical role in producing the precision sheet metal components that form the backbone of IAT’s dehumidification systems. This role ensures that parts are fabricated accurately, efficiently, and consistently to support production and maintain IAT’s high standards of quality. By mastering fabrication techniques and continuously improving processes, this position directly contributes to the reliability, performance, and manufacturability of IAT’s products.

To succeed in this role, the Press Brake Fabrication Associate must navigate the following challenges:​

• Precision Matters: Fabrication accuracy is critical — incorrect bends or dimensions can impact the entire assembly process downstream

• Balancing Speed and Quality: Production schedules require efficient output while maintaining strict quality standards.

• Interpreting Drawings: Reading and translating engineering drawings into accurate bends and finished parts requires attention to detail and technical understanding.

• Material Handling and Setup: Managing material types, thicknesses, and tooling setups correctly to ensure proper fabrication.

• Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve fabrication methods, tooling, and workflow efficiency.

Fabrication & Production

• Operate press brake equipment to form sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

• Set up tooling, adjust machine parameters, and verify correct bend angles and dimensions.

• Maintain production flow by fabricating parts efficiently while meeting quality standards.

Quality & Accuracy

• Inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and quality requirements.

• Identify and report issues with materials, drawings, or fabrication processes.

• Maintain consistency in fabrication to minimize rework and production delays.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Assembly teams to resolve fabrication challenges.

• Communicate potential design or fabrication improvements that enhance manufacturability.

Process Improvement

• Look for opportunities to improve fabrication processes, tooling setups, and workflow efficiency.

• Support standardization efforts to reduce errors and increase repeatability in fabrication.

Workplace Organization & Safety

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment around fabrication equipment and materials.

• Follow all safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures.
