Position Vision:

The Refrigeration Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that IAT’s custom dehumidification systems are expertly assembled, tested, and field-ready. This position blends deep HVAC knowledge with hands-on problem-solving and teamwork. Whether assembling piping systems, charging condensers, or supporting system start-ups, the Refrigeration Technician helps bring our vision to life with precision, pride, and purpose.

Challenges:
To succeed in this role, the Refrigeration Technician must be ready to meet the following challenges:
• Working Across Systems: IAT units involve refrigeration, electrical, and control systems. You must be able to navigate across disciplines and contribute to overall system performance.
• Custom Production Environment: No two systems are exactly alike. You’ll need to apply strong fundamentals with the flexibility to adapt and troubleshoot unique builds.
• Maintaining High Quality Standards: Precision in piping layout, brazing, and coolant charging is essential to performance and safety. Attention to detail is non-negotiable.
• Field Support Readiness: At times, you’ll travel to customer sites for start-ups and service support — requiring professionalism, independence, and a customer-first mindset.
• Driving Improvements: You’ll be counted on not only to perform but to observe and suggest improvements to tools, processes, and product design.

Expectations:
IAT’s expectations for a successful Refrigeration Technician include:
• Build with Expertise: Perform layout, piping, brazing, condenser installation, and charging with efficiency and precision.
• Support Full-System Integration: Collaborate with the controls and electrical teams to complete wiring and ensure everything functions together as designed.
• Be Quality-Focused: Troubleshoot during factory testing and ensure units meet all performance specifications before shipment.
• Step into the Field: When needed, travel to customer sites to support unit start-ups, conduct service calls, and represent IAT with professionalism.
• Be a Problem Solver: Diagnose and resolve factory and field issues — and help prevent them in the future by working closely with Engineering and Production.
• Help Improve How We Work: Assist with developing and refining production standards and contribute to continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor.
• Train and Support Others: Help train contractors or customers when called upon and communicate clearly with team members across departments.
• Be Reliable and Safety-Conscious: Maintain clean work practices, follow safety procedures, and manage your work area and materials responsibly.
